A Storytelling Motherhood Session in Derbyshire & Beyond


Motherhood sessions will always have my heart.

They’re the reason this little dream of mine — Moments by Simona — began to bloom in the first place. Every time I’m invited into one, it feels like coming home.

This particular storytelling session, nestled in a quiet meadow on the border of Leicestershire and Derbyshire, reminded me of what truly matters. There was no rushing, no posing — just space to play, breathe, and be together.

They painted, they danced, searched for ladybirds, and giggled through bubbles that floated gently in the golden light. It was slow. It was simple. It was magic.

I found myself quietly watching as the wonder of childhood unfolded in front of me.

As a storytelling lifestyle photographer in Derbyshire, I’m always drawn to the in-between moments — the laughter between chaos, the gentle touch, the look that says “this is us.”

Our children don’t need grand adventures or perfect plans. They don’t need constant entertainment or picture-perfect smiles.

They just need us — our presence, our attention, and our love.
