The thing I love most about my Christmas mini sessions isn’t the props or the trees or the cosy colours… it’s the way every single child brings their own little world into the session.
No two minis ever look the same — and that’s exactly how it should be.
I never ask children to perform or pose perfectly or smile on command.
Instead, I let them breathe.
I give them space.
I let them wander, discover, take their time… and lead the way.
Some children tiptoe in slowly, holding onto a parent’s hand while they take in everything around them.
Some immediately start exploring — running through the trees, touching branches, giggling, finding little treasures.
Some want to cuddle and melt into familiar arms.
Some love the camera.
Some pretend I’m not even there.
And some? They’re happiest with a biscuit in one hand and absolutely no intention of letting go of it.
And all of it is perfect.
Because storytelling lifestyle photography isn’t about forcing moments — it’s about capturing them as they naturally unfold.
It’s about letting children be children.
Their curiosity.
Their shyness.
Their wildness.

That’s the magic.
Mini sessions might be short, but they’re full of personality. In half an hour we can gather so much — the exploring, the cuddles, the silliness, the thoughtful pauses, the tiny details of hands touching pine needles or rosy cheeks tucked into Mum’s shoulder. I gently guide where needed, but mostly I follow their lead, capturing the story that naturally unfolds in front of us.
